Vince Sheehan

Chief Information Officer and Associate Dean for Information Technology

Vince oversees all aspects of the information technology environment for participating health sciences schools. He reports jointly to Jay Hess, M.D., IU Vice President for Clinical Affairs, and Brad Wheeler, Ph.D., IU's Vice President for IT and CIO. Vince is a native of Indianapolis and received his bachelor's degree from Indiana University in 1977. He has worked in city government, banking, and health care before joining IU in 1998.

He is a Fellow of the Frye Leadership Institute, and has participated in a number of national organizations including:

As CIO, Vince’s strategic priorities are to: help the health sciences community develop interdisciplinary education and research initiatives, remove barriers preventing clinicians’ ability to work across university and partner organization boundaries, and creating support environments that get technology out of the way so people can do their jobs. He’s not quite done yet.
